Today was not a good day, while driving into work today I got a call from my daughter, very upsetting news. Just a financial setback, I was depressed all day after that. I don't like working under those conditions at all. But you know what; my life could be so much worst, so I am truly Blessed when I step back and look at it. But darn, it still hurts when you have to shell out money unexpectedly. So I will continue to pray for Him to replenish what I had to give up. Then I think what God gave up for us, his SON. Money doesn't seem that important after all.

Summer

As each summer approaches I always seem to find myself saying, “We have so many things going on this summer!” Whether it’s birthday parties, family gatherings, or special events - the summers always seem to fly by! Along with that comes the stress of planning it all, while dealing with the day-to-day work we need to accomplish.
My point is… sometimes there are so many things that can get us distracted or frustrated throughout the day; a phone call, a misguided comment, a project at work or home, our families, our friends – big or small – it’s important to try to keep things in perspective, find some humor in it! Try to lighten your load with your thoughts! Make it so that you don’t go through the day in a constant state of stress. We all know what stress does to our bodies, so make sure you are eating right, exercising, and getting enough sleep! This will ensure that you will have the energy it takes to really enjoy the fun plans you are making for the summer!

Saturday Class

In class now, one more class until I graduate !! Thanks to everybody for having faith in me and keeping me in their prayers. I will officially have earned my Bachelors' Degree after this class, sending all paperwork to Cabrini College as soon as I am finished. Cannot wait. Well I've been very busy with my career here at UPS for the past several days. No time to blog. Just a note to say I hope everyone is having a good day. See you all on Saturday, only a few more classes left. Wow I will finally have my Bachelors Degree-I'm so very proud of myself. Now the hard works begins. In August I start Graduate school at Fairleigh Dickinson University. Good for me.

It has now been well over a year since the near collapse of our entire financial system that cost the nation more than 8 million jobs. To this day, hard-working families struggle to make ends meet.We've made strides -- businesses are starting to hire, Americans are finding jobs, and neighbors who had given up looking are returning to the job market with new hope. But the flaws in our financial system that led to this crisis remain unresolved.Wall Street titans still recklessly speculate with borrowed money. Big banks and credit card companies stack the deck to earn millions while far too many middle-class families, who have done everything right, can barely pay their bills or save for a better future.

Oh, you hate your job? Why didn't you say so? There's a support group for that. Its called EVERYBODY, and they meet at the bar !!!

Today we lost a pioneer hip-hop artist at the age of 43, so young. R.I.P. Guru. Along with DJ Premier they were the group called Gang Starr- The Jazz & Hip Hop sounds of the late 80's early 90's. Cancer took the life of a young soldier. Bless his soul.

Monday

Has anybody watched the new HBO series Treme ? Life in New Orleans beyond Bourbon St. after Hurricane Katrina. Good show so far. I've been before and after the hurricane. It's not the same, tourist just see the glamour on Bourbon St. Devastation still exists there. But it is a people place and the people are wonderful. If you haven't been, you must go.

My cousin was killed Friday morning in a car chase with the cops, pray for his soul. For I know he did not know the Lord and I am so afraid for his soul. God have mercy on him.

St Patricks Day

What a day I had yesterday, was supposed to be a festive fun filled day, well at work a transformer caught on fire out site the building, all power was off from 2:00pm until midnight, UPS has to move packages, it was a true nightmare. But with hard work and teamwork we pushed the packages out manually and drove majority to the next closest buildings in Pennsylvania to be processed for delivery. Hope that never happens again.

Life's Attitude.

Wisdom is the sharing of wise experiences and knowledge, but a lot of it is common sense. The difference is how we apply this common sense - we all have the ability to keep going even when we face challenges in our lives - basically it comes down to your attitude. We can have a positive attitude towards life, or a negative attitude. We can focus on the good or we can focus on the bad. Keeping a positive mental attitude is one of the keys to success. The choice is always up to you!

Second Life

I had fun with my Avatar, it was hard for me in the beginning. If it were not for several of my classmates help, I wold not have gotten as far as I did. Thanks classmates !!! It was cool moving to all the different islands and hunting for things. I lost my hair at one point !! I could not turn around in some of my pictures. So I still do need help, but in all it was fun.

Career Move

Well, well, well here we go again, Friday i was told I will have a new assignment starting Monday, different hours and responsibilities. I guess I'm grateful they didn't say starting Monday you will have NO JOB !!!!! So I'll do it and be the best at it. I was just getting the hang of my new position I had since January. Better something than nothing in today's time. Wish me luck.

Back to the grid today, did not have time with the busy schedule yesterday, but I'm back. Weather is looking better, my health is good and I'm ready to start my March off right. Irritation

You know what really bothers me to no end. If I'm in class and the professor is lecturing, why do I hear everybody else in the class carrying on side bars?! I didn't come to hear you, be quiet and talk when it's time to talk, you come to school to get something out of it, not to chit chat with your neighbors. Be considerate of others please.

Did not get a chance to blog at all yesterday. I did absolutely nothing but relaxed all weekend. So much needed rest. Good for me !! Working 60-70 hours a week and in school and taking care of a family takes a hefty toll on your body and mind. God give me the strength to continue. He always does.

Well it's Saturday, off to school. That's so good to say !!!

In todays world you must have a well rounded education in order to get ahead, so many people at work get complacent with their jobs, when others with a degree surpass them in the workforce. It is not only who you know, but what you know. So to the young folks get yours while you can and study something you enjoy so you can excel at it. I wish I were younger, but it's never to late. I'm gonna sit back and get mine and pass everybody at work. Education is the answer.

When God leads you to the edge of the cliff, trust Him fully and let go, only 1 of 2 things will happen, either He'll catch you when you fall, or He'll teach you how to fly! I believe I will fly with my educational goals, so step out on faith and return back to school, no matter what age you are. Remember knowledge is key for success.

After looking at all my options, I do believe I made the right choice with returning back to school to obtain my graduate degree. Education is just not for the young, but also the young at heart. I just have to concentrate a little more than usual and be better focused and prioritize my life and school with my home environment.

As I know education is the key to success, since I've been in the workplace for over 20 years, where is there for me to go? I see light at the end of the tunnel for me. in saying that I will be persistent with my studies and keep a positive attitude about returning to the classroom. Things in life are not easy is this one of them, but I can do it. Does anybody feel like I do? Is anybody struggling with this situation also?

Today was a rough day at work and I'm so tired, kids got to eat, husband has to eat, when do I have time to study? Somebody please help, I am mentally exhausted!! Is there work life balance after 40 years old? Do I really need to continue my education is what I keep asking myself, and I know the answer is yes. But somedays I just think I am too old.

Is it just me, but when you go back to school after the kids are grown and you are on the second half of your life, why does things seem so hard!! going back to school after 40, is harder than people realize. pls give me some insight/help
